Nikolaos Zacharis

Dr. Nick Z. Zacharis is a Professor of Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering at University of West Attica. He received a BE from the Hellenic Air Force Academy and an MSc in intelligent systems from the University of Plymouth, UK. In 2002, he received his Phd degree in computer science from the Piraeus University, Greece. Nick Z. Zacharis has extensive experience in private sector and he has been involved in several national and european research projects, since 1996. He collaborates with the Educational Institute of Public Administration, for the purpose of training and lifelong learning of civil servants in information technology, the creation of educational learning objects and conducting educational seminars with e-learning technologies. He teaches courses related to web programming, machine learning, compiler design and programming languages, e-learning tools and technologies.

His research interests involve the information extraction from the student activities during their interaction with educational technology systems and the development of intelligent systems to monitor and support students during the educational process.
