Management of Computer Science Projects

Description

The course focuses on capacity building for active participation in project planning and management. It provides the necessary knowledge to efficiently approach techno-economic issues, manage a project as a whole, from concept phase, design of the project, use of specialized planning tools to track the project, financial analysis for its funding, monitoring of the individual stages, writing of contracts, and the final presentation of the project in the community-market. Students are taught basic project management concepts (e.g. project phases, network analysis, PERT charts, GANTT, etc.) and are trained to use the most up-to-date tools / software (e.g. MS Project) for project management.
